it's hard to believe we have already reached the last day of the year. seriously - i know it's so cliche but where did the year go?
the good news is we are ending the year on a fantastic note.
this year our dream came true.
so much has changed in the last 12 months. we went from living in the 'burbs with a wicked commute to living in the country and working from home. from a crazy hectic life to a more relaxed and peaceful existence.i must say life got a lot sweeter in 2010.
by far our sweetest surprise was this little turkey (as we affectionately call him or her)...
it's amazing how something so little can bring such joy...AND NAUSEA!!! ha. that is definitely something i WON'T be missing about 2010!
speaking of our little peanut the past few weeks have been a flurry of activity. we've had a few different ultrasounds in which the little stinker TOTALLY didn't want to cooperate. finally at ultrasound number FOUR we were able to see more than just its spine! fortunately (s)he is growing well and is looking healthy.
the big purchases have been made. nursery furniture and cosleeper (for the early months) are on their way. stroller is here. babe already has lots of cute outfits and accessories and even a few toys (someone was spoiled rotten this christmas).
i have a feeling the next few months are going to FLY BY.
my boy was very successful today at getting our permit for renos so LET THE RENOS BEGIN! there is so much to do and so little time but with a firm deadline on our hands i'm confident it'll keep us motivated to stick to our timelines!
christmas was just the way christmas should be. low key and spent with family..well half of the family...we could only share part of christmas morning with my side via skype christmas morning. there were lots of smiles and laughs and no family christmas drama!
denis and i took the time to enjoy our last morning as an "us" before we become the three muskateers. we did something new this year - we kept it SIMPLE when it came to presents. we have been saying for years that we would and this year we actually went through with it. it was SO NICE.
unfortunately the little turkey decided that mama needed the return of morning sickness to celebrate the holiday which wasn't fun, but if that's what needs to happen for a healthy babe, i'll take it!
other than that it has been a quiet winter. we often stay pretty close to home. denis is enjoying his tractor/snowplow. he's like a little kid on the days that it snows. we've put out a salt lick and some feed to try and attract the deer to our back yard.
purchasing this home and moving to the country was definitely one of the best decisions we've ever made together...
and so we say goodbye to 2010 on a high note and look forward to all that 2011 has in store for us. we look forward to visits from family and friends where we can share our little piece of heaven. we look forward to long walks around the neighbourhood pushing the new swanky stroller and evenings spent in the hot tub relaxing (ha - wishful thinking). most of all we look forward to growing even more as a couple and as a family...
and for you lovelies, we hope that 2011 is full of love, happiness, health and your own miracles in whatever form they may be...
on that note i'll leave you with my word for 2011. N.U.R.T.U.R.E.
nurture myself
nurture our marriage
nurture our child
nurture our home
nurture relationships
nurture life
May I just say that made me very happy, especially the end part about nurturing :)
