I found this on One Cute Nursery today and I just couldn't resist posting it...
NEWBORN'S TOP TEN TIPS TO PARENTS
Dear Mommy and Daddy:
I come to you a small, immature being with my own style and personality. I am yours for only a short time; enjoy me.
1. Please take time to find out who I am, how I differ from you, and how much I can bring to you.
2. Please feed me when I am hungry. I never knew hunger in your uterus, and clocks and time mean little to me.
3. Please hold, cuddle, kiss, touch, stroke, and croon to me. I was always held closely in your uterus and was never alone before.
4. Please don't be disappointed when I am not the perfect baby that you expected, nor disappointed with yourselves that you are not the perfect parents.
5. Please don't expect too much from me as your newborn baby, or too much from yourselves as parents. Give us both six weeks for me to grow, develop, mature, and become more stable and predictable; and six weeks for you to rest and relax and allow your body to get back to normal.
6. Please forgive me if I cry a lot. Bear with me and in a short time, as I mature, I will spend less and less time crying and more time socializing.
7. Please watch me carefully and I can tell you those things which soothe, console, and please me. I am not a tyrant who was sent to make your life miserable, but the only way I can tell you that I am not happy is with my cry.
8. Please remember that I am resilient and can withstand the many natural mistakes you will make with me. As long as you make them with love, you cannot ruin me.
9. Please take care of yourselves and eat a balance diet, rest and exercise so that when we are together you have the health and strength to take care of me.
10. Please take care of your relationship with each other, for what good is family bonding if there is no family to bond to?
Thank you,
Your Loving Child
How sweet is that?
I keep meaning to post on here and then get lazy and don't bother. I really need to change that.
Time is flying by. I can't believe I'm already past six months...crazy talk if you ask me!
Tonight we had our first prenatal class. It was SO AWESOME. It's a small group and we love our instructor.
Denis wore this:
We both thought it was hysterical, but unfortunately nobody seemed to notice! ha.
We are taking a Bringing Baby Home class this weekend - maybe those class members will "get it."
I know all I do is talk BABY ALL THE TIME LATELY (ask my friend Katie), but I can't help it. We went through so much heartbreak to get to this point so now we try to celebrate each and every day.
Our little turkey wants to make sure I celebrate every night too - the pregnancy insomnia has definitely set in. I know this is supposed to "prepare" me for those sleepless nights. I get it. I just can't help but feel that those sleepless night will be way more fun with a chubby little baby to snuggle. One thing I do know is I may not be sleeping but at least I won't be puking anymore...AFTER SIX MONTHS IT IS GETTING OLD.
And you know what? In class tonight our teacher asked the other women how their morning sickness had been...out of six women I was the ONLY ONE that had bad morning sickness. One of them said she had a little bit of nausea at the beginning of her second trimester. The rest? NADA. N A D A. Can you believe it? How does that happen. I told them I was more than willing to share. sheesh!
Well, my eyelids are growing heavy and goodness knows I have a mid-night party ahead of me with this little turkey so I better hit the sheets.
Hope 2011 has started off on an incredible foot for all of you...
'night lovelies!
You didn't tell me he wore that to the class! that is HYSTERICAL!! I can't believe no one laughed.
I love the letter from the baby at the top...so true.
Keep the baby talk coming....you have about 2years worth my kid babble to make up for :) LOL

Hi, I am Flavia Andrews from One cute Nursery. Yhanks for reposting! I really appreciate it. My little one just turned 6 months yesterday and believe me it's not cliche: THEY GROW FAST! enjoy every sleepless night because one night, your baby is going to sleep through the night and you're still gonna be waking up to check on him/her.
I wish you all the best in your pregnancy, labor and delivery and most of all best wishes for a healthy and strong baby.
Keep coming to my site, I can share with you great tips. I am also a first time mommy.
Kindest,
flavia
