hi friends
i seem to have so much to say, and yet i've really lost my blogging mojo. i hope to get that up and running again before long.
today i decided to take a little time to update the look of the blog. i'm getting extra white lines and to be honest i can't be bothered trying to figure out why!
i just took a nice long soak in our new bathtub. it was my second attempt because the first time we had a leak (into the dining room) so i cut it short. the reason we had the leak was because our contractor accidentally stepped in a hole in the bathroom floor and went through the dining room ceiling. uncle danny (our plumber) came to the rescue on friday and the tub is without leaks.
i soaked in the tub for a good hour. it was heaven. there were bubbles bubbles everywhere. i have waited for a tub like that for SO LONG. i really missed our old tub and this one is even better.
as i turned the water off and on with the elecric dials, i had to chuckle at how much our life has changed since coming here. at the beginning i blogged about our "pioneer life." um - not so much anymore.
we installed this new system in our master bath. it's the moen io digital.
*naked man not included
basically all of our bath and shower control is digital, and it comes with a remote. so you can be relaxing in bed and hit the remote to start your bath or shower for you. sweet! although once the babe is a toddler, we may not find this feature so sweet anymore. we'll definitely need to keep those remotes hidden for our own sanity and for our kid's safety!
as cool as the new bathroom gadget is, we just recently ordered something even COOLER.
a number of years ago (before we were even married) i saw an episode of extreme makeover home edition with a nursery. they installed a fibre optic star ceiling and i knew right then and there that if and when we had a nursery i wanted one of those ceilings in it.
*i can't find the emhe image so i did a google search for another nursery with one of these ceilings installed
at night it looks more like this
the links have remained in my favourites for years. with past pregnancies we were ready to order but thankfully decided to wait. with this pregnancy for some reason i/we just couldn't decide whether we should do it or not. this is a very different house from our last one. we have about 3,983,091 other projects on the go. if we were ONLY doing a nursery it would be one thing, but we have so many other things going on.
finally earlier this week one of the daily deal sites i follow had a cheap alternative on sale even cheaper.
so i picked this up for baby turpin
well wouldn't you know the very next day denis the baby daddy went ahead and ordered the fibre optic kit complete with a shooting star kit. i guess he's listened to me for so many years he decided to go for it.
so now we have ANOTHER project! i think i've found someone to paint a sky on the ceiling once installed. how lucky is this kid? i can't wait to lie down on the floor and watch shooting stars while we read stories. just another dream come true!
i guess denis and i will take the turtle for our room!
renos are progressing...not as quickly as i'd like, but renos never work out that way do they?
i am just goingt o keep my legs good and crossed until they are done so that the wee one actually has a place to sleep and some hardwood on the floor! at least we have been very lucky and happy with all of the contractors that have been working on the house. that REALLY helps.
and the little turkey is doing well. continuing to grow and loves dancing in the belly.i recently switched to a new OB because my old OB doesn't deliver babies anymore. at first i was disappointed, but now i am SO HAPPY about the switch. he is by far the best doctor i've ever seen. turns out he knows my cousin steve too!
i hope he can be there for the delivery, but if he isn't he assures me his colleagues are equally as great as he is. now i wish i had been seeing him right from the beginning.
not long now and i'll be on maternity leave. just a few weeks to go. this week i'm meeting a group of friends for supper...my old work team, the dream team. they were a BLAST at my shower, but i had virtually no time to visit with them so we're having one last date before our little person arrives.
i'm hoping to do the same in two weeks with another group of friends. who knows how life will change in the upcoming months.
we did plan our first (or likely one of our first) date nights out to a concert in july...JOSH GROBAN! it is so weird to have to line up a babysitter (in this case mamie - denis' mom) before we can commit. luckily she agreed because i managed to score floor tickets in ROW 2! oh yeah. love josh and i'm sure we will be more than ready for a date night by that point!
well - this mama is quickly fading tonight. that's all for the update
'night lovelies
So happy for you Diva Mama!
We bought the turtle for our granddaughters. They love to have it at the cottage, because they sleep in the same room and it makes the cottage more magical. I like it too and almost bought one for myself!
Funny! I know your cousin Steve too! We have eaten at Beckta a few times and at Play!
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy, I am thinking of you.
I am sure we will eventually meet - it almost happened at Katie's Stella and Dot party, but I could not attend. Soon I am sure...
